They are resaving benefits and the road block things are being torn down so people can come and live free in the country. However in North Korea they have their people under so kind of spell. They are not able or allowed to leave the country and they also think that Kim Jong II is god basically. The second article that I read was about the Boston marathon because the bombs are bombs that al Qaida would us in there terrorist attacks. So the government thinks that a member or al Qaida made and set this bombs off.
This Relates to what we are learning in class because after the Cold War North Korea and Qaida were left or became communist. In class we talked about how the people in North Korea are communist, they love and praise King Jong II.
In the recent after math of The Boston Marathon bombings, on a day that is treated as a state holiday in Boston, Patriots Day, celebrating the anniversary of the battle of Lexington and Concord one the very first battles held in the Revolutionary War. Needless to say with the gathering of cheery and excited faces on a proud patriotic beautiful soring day, no expected what happened to happen. After the bombs went off many newscasters eluded it to being in a foreign warzone how the tactics matched those of our enemies overseas. First and initial bomb causing shock, damage, horror and injury and then a secondary bomb not long after to attack the first responders and cause even more injuries. Many people were shocked this happened at such a leisurely event, a public race. In the 1950s people would spend their leisure time playing with toys such as the yo-yo or the hula hoop. They used their free time to indulge in the latest fads.

It also talks how it has changed from rock to hip hop.Music can change how teens act and get them to make bad decisions by what the artist sing about. The other article talks about peer presure and how kids make decisons by society and peer pressure. some music gets kids to do bad things whitch is like the society peerpressuring you to do things . People dont understand why kids listen to society and do the things they do.
These two articles talk about life in either North or South Korea. The first article talks about the North. What really caught my attention was the fact that most workers are only paid about $2-$3 a month. Only people with really good sales or are high ranked get about $10. Another thing that was interesting is that the average life expectancy is only around 54 years old. North Korea truly lives a life of poverty. The second article is obviously going to be about South Korea. This article is more on how the people feel. For them, there is always a constant fear of going to war with the North. But because they always have threats coming from the North it's just part of their daily lives. The article also says that most of the people feel safer with the U.S. as allies.
The two articles that I read discussed what was going on in Boston surrounding the bombings that happened during the Boston marathon. The articles describe how social media had a huge part in this situation and the efforts the police were putting out to stop it. On the good side police were using the World Wide Web to find out info on the suspects and scan for suspicious tweets and things like that. On the other hand there are the idiots that interfere with police activity and put out a bunch of fake things to take the police off the trail that they have been making. The suspects FaceBook page was being used also. He boasted of his acts and had some Russian jokes mocking the police which made it even more believable that he was involved in the bombing. Back in the 50s people would never have to worry about such a thing. When all the men came back from the war and all the parades were going on and everything no one had to worry about being blown up by a bomb. This just shows how much things have changed and that nowhere is really safe anymore
Social networking today really takes human communication farther than cell phones. 70 to 80 percent of America’s youth uses a social networking site like Facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc. but we have progressed at making this form of social media/communication into a global use almost anywhere. We use these to talk to friends and family to keep a general connection with certain people even if they are on the opposite side of the planet it helps us to keep in touch. The internet is also the most basic form of social media and global communication. We are still improving ways to keep in contact almost 24/7. Every day there are billions of users on a social media site. We rely on this because it is communication of all of our opinions. Without this America and maybe the world could not have an efficient way to communicate.
In these articles it says that segregation is still going on today. The first website was about a Georgia high school that teen’s band together to organize their first integrated prom in over 60 years. They shared class room and the same school but for 60 years they have been having two proms one for blacks and one for whites. In the other article it says that in America we are still segregated. What the article states is that it’s not like the older generation, it says its mostly in are schools, prisons, and communities. The article brought up a point where if you were to hang out with white friends you’re more likely to go to a place where white people feel more comfortable and are mostly at. If you were to hang out with black friends they would go to places that they feel more comfortable and go to places most black people go too. So for summery white people go to places where most white people go and black people go to places where most black people go. It’s no longer a legal issue, but a culture one.
A lot happened during the 1960’s in America. To start with civil rights movement was going on which had a huge impact on everyone in America. The civil rights movement was headed by Martin Luther King Jr. as well as the black panthers. These groups helped achieve equal rights for African Americans. I was very hard during this time for African Americans because of all the hate crimes that were being committed to them during this time. Examples include segregation, getting sprayed with fire hoses, and altercations with the KKK. Eventually they would gain equal rights and live without segregation. On the other side of things the cold war was underway, the cold war brought on the Korean War and the Vietnam War. This brought discrimination towards a lot of races, and groups of people. A lot of people of Asian descent were discriminated against because both the Korean and the Vietnam wars. Another group that was discriminated against during this time where the communists an example would be the victims of the Hollywood ten, who were a group of actors that were blacklisted because they were thought to be working with the Soviet Union who were a communist nation, and main enemy of the United States at that time.
http://ilovethe1950s.blogspot.com/ http://blogs.salesforce.com/company/2013/05/4-ways-social-media-supports-top-of-the-funnel-activities.html In the two articles I read one talks about how TV was a large way that changed how people were social. The more and more TV they had to watch the less time they used their social skills. In 2013 this is a very large problem lots of people are stuck on the TV or video games and not interacting or being social with others. In 2013 there are some social fads like saying swag and tons of other slang words. In the 1950s they had slang words to that they used when they were social. There is also tons of social media sights like twitter and face book and that can help people to be more social they just aren’t face to face like they had to be in the 1950s unless if they had a house phone. IN 2013 the usa is very social in other countries too they wert so social with others in 1950s we now relay more on other countries.
The two articles I found deal with how much technology has changes in in few years. While reading the articles, it really made me think of how it might have been back in the 50’s-70’s. The first article talks about how technology has failed us and what it was originally for. Number 1 just explains how all the apps and internet access takes up time we should be using with our loved ones. It made me think of how when the TV first came out, families would watch kid friendly shows together just so they could have family time and now I’m lucky if my parents have any time at all to watch at least 5 minutes of TV with me. Number 2 states that we record our lives rather than living them. This is absolutely true. For example, during a firework show, I’m either recording or taking pictures of the show rather than actually watching myself. 3 and 4 weren’t really big deals but number 5 says goodbye general knowledge. I agree with this. How many times to we go on the internet to find answers. Back in the 50’s there’s no way they could have done that. The second article talks about how during 9/11 social media only talked about the tragedy. Internet wasn’t as big a deal as it is now but the news talked about it for weeks. For awhile that’s all that you watched. It made me think of when President Kennedy was assassinated and it was all over the news.
Life in South Korea and North Korea are two totally opposite ways of life. In South Korea they are so far ahead of technology in other countries. Focused on their work and making their country even farther ahead than it is now. But North Korea is an extremely different country; it is a secretive and terrible place to live. Run by a complete dictator. No one in the North make any money, it is a very poor country. Unlike in the South, who are very advanced in almost everything. Even though both countries started at the same point, but the South took the opportunity to get ahead in the world. Also in South Korea they had just elected a new president, who indeed was a woman. North Korea verbally attacked the South about having a woman in charge since they have always had the “superior” man. North Korea made a joke at the “venomous swish of her skirt”. As you can see the Koreas are two completely different places to live, one who took a giant leap, and one who is stuck at the ways they have always been at.
This is a blog and a web page on the social problems of modern United States of America. Most of these problems are related to America’s youth. Things like drug abuse and homo sexuality are some of the big problems both these articles point at. It is hard for students to go through school without facing drug related conversation or actual drug problems. Homo sexual also get a lot of flack with admitting that they are homo sexual and they also have trouble when people over use the term “gay” for things that are just stupid. Other social problems have to do with race, culture, interest, and gender disagreement. These are the over all social problems of America today.
